| RIO IRIRI LODGE |
Rio Iriri Lodge is over 300km as the crow flies from the nearest road, at the
confluence of two beautiful rivers and is set amidst the largest Mahogany and Brazil Nut Tree
forests in the Amazon Basin. The Lodge is remote, far away from the well trodden paths
around Manaus but it offers a high level of comfort and safety.
It was completed in 2004 and enjoys a vast area of fishable water, which until now has never
been exploited. Fly fishing is first class and Amazonia offers the greatest range of
species in any one location. The king among them is undoubtedly the peacock bass: pound
for pound one of the most powerful fresh water predators in the world. For
fly-fishermen, a large number can be caught between 2lb and 6lb, but this area is rich in
specimens up to 20lb. |
 |
| Accommodation is in 4 very comfortable twin rooms with private facilities and
beautiful views of the river. The main building houses the dining room, a comfortable
bar and a stunning river front veranda. Occupancy is limited to eight so as to ensure
there is never too much fishing pressure. |

OTHER ACTIVITIES |
|
| Guided boat trips to local Indian tribes, bird watching
and wildlife watching (wildlife is easier to see in this part of the Amazon Basin as
the jungle is not as dense and there are a number of water holes). |
