MORRUM |
| Salmon and Sea Trout |
| Morrum is one of Sweden's best salmon rivers and has been an angling tradition
since 1231. The river is not commercially fished any longer and an extensive fish
management programme is operated. The daily number of rods is also restricted.
During April the catch consists mainly of sea trout which have remained in the river during
the winter. These fish often weigh over 22 lbs. Smaller, newly arrived sea trout
are also caught. Towards the end of April Baltic salmon enter the river and during May,
June and July they dominate the catch. The average weight is 20 lbs but fish over 40 lbs
are not uncommon. In August and September the fishing focuses mainly on the large
numbers of migrating sea trout weighing up to 30 lbs. |

| LAPLAND |
| Grayling, Brown Trout, Arctic Char, Baltic Salmon and Sea Trout |
| The rivers Könkämä, Muonio and Tornio form the 540 km border between Sweden
with Finland. Here, some 200 km above the Arctic Circle, Lapland is at its best and
cleanest, with deep forests, mighty rivers and mountains. Old paths and small roads wind
through the forests and along rivers. |
 |
| There is excellent fly fishing for grayling and brown trout in the Muonio and
good arctic char and trout fishing in some nearby lakes. Because of the midnight sun you
will be able to fish around the clock if you wish. There are reasonable runs of Baltic
Salmon and Sea Trout in the river which can be an added bonus to your fishing holiday. |
