Zambezi - Tiger Fish

There are over 50 species of shark in the western Cape and it is renowned for its Great White Shark fishing.  If sharks are not your target there is spectacular fly and conventional fishing for yellowfin, albacore (Longfin) and big-eye tuna and swordfish.  Yellowfin and big-eye tuna range from 80-200lbs and albacore from 16-60lbs.  In-shore game fishing for southern yellowtail (4-24lbs) is excellent sport on a fly.  Snook are found between May and October.

Fishing Seasons: September to November - October is Prime Time

Recommended stays:

Chiawa Camp

Resting peacefully on the banks of the Zambezi River, under a grove of evergreen mahogany trees, Chiawa Camp holds the prime position in the heart of Zambia's Lower Zambezi National Park.  It is at this very spot, where David Livingstone ventured through 150 years ago.  Constructed mainly of natural materials Chiawa blends in effortlessly with its idyllic surroundings and it is here where guests receive the very best Africa has to offer.  A stunning thatched lounge/bar area with upstairs viewing deck provides one of the best views of the Zambezi.

The fishing at the camp is outstanding and holds some of the finest tiger fishing.  After your days fishing, you can unwind at the bar and relay the battle about the one that got away, or simply relax in the comfort of your tented accommodation that has hot and cold running water, electric lighting and a view to beat all others.

Non fishing partners can enjoy daily safaris.
