British Virgin Islands

Bonefish, Tarpon, Marlin, Wahoo, Barracuda, Permit & Tuna

There is a necklace of islands in the Caribbean with magnificent scenery, the friendliest people and good fishing, not to mention of course the fantastic food and rum punches.

Go Fishing Worldwide offers trips to Anegada and Virgin Gorda.

Anegada is the best island for bonefishing with Virgin Gorda being a good choice for gamefishing. If you are looking for a beach holiday with a couple of bonefish days this can be done from Virgin Gorda.

Fishing Seasons: Bonefish, Permit & Tarpon - All Year, Billfish & Marlin - April to August

Anegada Island

Bonefish, Tarpon & Permit

Whilst on Anegada, which at its highest point is a mere 28 feet above sea level, you will be able to fly fish for bonefish and a number of saltwater species, dine under the stars and relax on the white sandy beaches.  Surrounded by the third largest coral reef in the world, it is well protected from the sea and its waters remain calm all year round.  It has a variety of breath-taking flats and mangroves which hold large bonefish, tarpon and permit.  These can all be targeted on the fly either from the skiff or by wading the crystal clear flats.

There are little more than 200 inhabitants on the island which really does give it that untouched, desert island feel.  The food is fresh and delicious and served on the beach with the drink of your choice.

Recommended stays:

Anegada Reef Hotel

The Anegada reef hotel is situated on a the beah and is surrounded by crystal clear seas where turtles glide elegantly across the flats, bonefish tail and tarpon roll.  The food is fresh from the sea and there is a great selection of local dishes to try whilst relaxing under the stars at the candle-lit beach restaurant.  The rooms are modern with private bathrooms and are very comfortable with air conditioning and maid service.

There are a handful of small local gift shops and convenience stores and just a short stroll away you are able to visit more secluded beaches with bars and cafes serving every thing from snacks to three course meals.  The transport to Anegada is by boat and takes approximately half an hour.  This has a true desert island feel with a good variety of fishing.
