Sailfish & Bluewater Fishing
Dubai's heritage is buried deep in the history of Arab civilization. Fishing, along with pearling and trading were prevalent well before the discovery of oil. It is a sought-after holiday destination with a perfect winter climate, excellent hotels, superb facilities for a variety of sports and leisure activities and very good shopping.
Sailfish are abundant in the Gulf, averaging between 30 and 60lbs (some larger fish are caught). Tuna, queenfish, Spanish mackerel, grouper and snapper are also prevalent. You can choose to fish with conventional or fly fishing tackle.
Fishing Seasons:
Grouper, Queenfish, Dorado, Longtail Tuna, Giant Trevally, Spanish Mackerel & Snapper - All Year. Fly Fishing is best from 1 April to 31 August
Sailfish - October to May, February and March are prime time.
