FISHING SAFARIS TO MATEMO ISLAND RESORT, MEJUMBE
ISLAND RESORT AND PEMBA BEACH RESORT
These Resorts are situated in the Quirimbas Archipelago on the border of Tanzania and Mozambique and offer some of the finest game fishing in the world. Fishing in this part of the world was started 4 years ago and the marlin fishery is yet to be established. Species fished for are sailfish, wahoo (up to 64lbs), dorado, yellowfin tuna (20-40 lbs with some in the 60-70lb range), king mackerel (averaging 20-36lbs with some in the 50lbs range), kingfish around 70lbs (Pemba record 93lbs) There is also excellent fly fishing from the beach, you will need to bring your own fly rod. We would recommend a holiday split between two of the resorts so that you get a different fishing experience and we would be happy to arrange a safari in Tanzania for a few days either before or after your visit. The resorts are reached either from Nairobi or Dar Es Salaam with a connecting flight to Pemba. Matemo is a 20 minute small flight ride from Pemba and Medjumba is a 40 minute flight.
