Cuba - Cayo Paredon
Hosted by Simon Holme
Cayo Paredón is a small island in Cuba’s northern Jardines del Rey (Gardens of the King) Archipelago, part of a vast marine park known for its unspoilt landscapes and rich biodiversity. Located in Camagüey Province, it’s just 10 km from Cayo Coco International Airport, with access also possible via Camagüey City, around a three-hour drive away.
This remote, low-lying cay is surrounded by clear, shallow flats and deeper channels, offering varied and exciting fly fishing opportunities. The area has long been on the radar of adventurous anglers, but only recently has a formal, conservation-focused fishing operation been established, working in partnership with Blue Sanctuary and local marine park authorities.
The flats here are firm underfoot, making for excellent wade fishing. Bonefish are present in good numbers, and many are of a very respectable size. Permit are seen regularly, both tailing on the flats and cruising the edges. Tarpon are also present, especially in the deeper blue channels that cut through the cay system. It’s a classic Cuban mix — a genuine chance to target all three of the Caribbean's most iconic flats species in a beautiful, protected setting.
Includes: Return international flights, all transfers, 7 nights all inclusive accommodation with 6 days guided flats fishing, $300 conservation fee & Cuban visa.
