WHO WE ARE

For nearly 40 years, Go Fishing Worldwide has crafted exceptional fishing holidays around the world.

While we began with a focus on Canada, our offerings have expanded into a truly global portfolio, featuring a diverse range of destinations and experiences.

Our holidays are thoughtfully designed for both anglers and their non-fishing companions, offering flexible durations and personalised itineraries that can combine fishing with sightseeing in truly stunning locations.

We also host small group trips throughout the year, led by knowledgeable anglers who provide guidance on casting, fly selection, and local tips for a memorable experience. Whether traveling solo or with a group, you’ll find camaraderie with like-minded anglers on each trip.

Nyerere ~ Tanzania

20 - 29 September 2026

Set deep within the vast wilderness of southern Tanzania, Lake Nyerere is one of Africa’s most exciting emerging freshwater fisheries. Formed by the newly completed Julius Nyerere Hydropower Dam, this immense 1,200 km² system lies entirely within the Nyerere National Park / Selous ecosystem, surrounded by untouched, protected wilderness.

Fed by the Kilombero and Great Ruaha rivers, the lake is already producing consistent action for Tanzania’s tigerfish (Hydrocynus tanzaniae) and vundu catfish, with clear potential for specimen fish as the system continues to mature. With no shoreline development, no villages, and virtually no fishing pressure, it offers a rare combination of scale, isolation, and discovery.

Fishing takes place from fully equipped custom-built boats, with experienced guiding and a maximum of two anglers per vessel. The camp experience is comfortable yet authentic, with well-appointed tented accommodation, excellent food, and all logistics carefully managed to ensure a seamless expedition in a truly wild setting.

This is a rare opportunity to fish a major African system at the very beginning of its evolution.
