Greenland - Sassanguit River
Hosted by Allan Liddle
Fly fishing for Arctic char in West Greenland is a truly unique experience. You will be staying in untouched wilderness and fishing the 15km Sassannguit River, right on the Arctic Circle. Fishing is limited to 6 people, giving you the entire system to yourselves.
In addition to river fishing, there is the option of sea fishing by boat for halibut, Atlantic wolffish, cod, and salmon. The surrounding wilderness offers opportunities to spot reindeer and musk oxen, hike among spectacular mountains coverred in moss and summer flowers, and forage blue mussels on the river reefs during low tide.
The trip is organised by Greenlandic hunter and fisherman, Leif Fontaine, founder of West Greenland Wildlife and former chairman of the Greenlandic Fishermen and Hunters' Organization. The team also includes local guides and camp staff, who know the river and surrounding wilderness intimately, ensuring you are in the best hands throughout your stay.
Includes: return international flights, first and last nights in Copenhagen, return boat transfers to the camp, 6 nights at the camp with all meals, 6 days guided fishing with exclusive rights to the river, 1 night in Sisimiut.
