ACKLINS

Acklins Island, neighbouring Crooked Island in the southern Bahamas, is a wonderfully remote destination renowned for its extensive, lightly fished bonefish flats. The island offers excellent opportunities for wade fishing, with vast stretches of shallow water, mangrove creeks and beautiful white sand flats to explore.

Bonefish are plentiful, typically averaging around 3–4 lb, with good opportunities to encounter considerably larger fish. Permit, barracuda and other saltwater species can also be found in the surrounding waters.

Grey's Point Bonefish Inn

Grey's Point is a small, family-run fishing lodge situated on Relief Bay, in the northern part of Acklins Island. It offers comfortable, straightforward accommodation, good home-cooked food and friendly Bahamian hospitality.

The lodge enjoys a particularly attractive position, with excellent bonefishing flats immediately outside its doors. Much of the fishing is done on foot, exploring shallow sand flats and mangrove shorelines, while experienced local guides provide access to a wide variety of productive waters.

One of the great attractions of Grey's Point is the freedom to explore. In addition to guided fishing, guests can use the lodge's kayaks and canoes to reach nearby flats and enjoy some independent fishing. With relatively little fishing pressure and plenty of water to discover, Acklins offers a wonderful sense of solitude.
