MAYAGUANA

Mayaguana is one of the most remote and least developed islands in The Bahamas, with a small population and a wonderfully relaxed pace of life.

The island offers excellent bonefishing, with extensive shallow flats, beautiful beaches and very little fishing pressure. There are good opportunities for wade fishing, with the chance to encounter some particularly fine bonefish, as well as permit and other saltwater species.

Baycaner Beach Resort

Baycaner Beach Resort is a small, friendly hotel offering comfortable accommodation and traditional Bahamian hospitality in a peaceful island setting.

Guest rooms are air-conditioned with private bathrooms, while the hotel has a restaurant and bar where anglers can relax after a day on the water. Breakfast and dinner are served at the hotel, with packed lunches provided for fishing days.

The fishing is predominantly undertaken on foot, exploring the island's extensive flats, with boat access to more distant areas also available. The arrangements are particularly well suited to anglers who enjoy independent wade fishing and the freedom to explore at their own pace.
