TURNEFFE FLATS RESORT

Turneffe Flats is an established fishing and diving lodge situated on the eastern side of Turneffe Atoll, approximately 30 miles off the coast of Belize. Surrounded by beautiful coral reefs, mangrove islands and extensive shallow flats, it offers excellent saltwater fly fishing in a wonderfully peaceful setting.

Turneffe Atoll is particularly renowned for its permit fishing, with large areas of turtle grass flats and shallow channels providing opportunities to sight-fish for these challenging fish. Bonefish are plentiful, while tarpon can be encountered in the lagoons and deeper channels. Experienced local guides have an intimate knowledge of the atoll and tailor each day's fishing to the tides and conditions, with opportunities to pursue all three species of the classic Grand Slam.

The lodge accommodates a small number of guests in spacious, comfortable, air-conditioned beachfront rooms with private bathrooms. Facilities include a swimming pool overlooking the flats, a well-stocked bar and an attractive main lodge where excellent meals are served.

Turneffe Flats is also an outstanding destination for diving and snorkelling, with the surrounding reef supporting a remarkable variety of marine life. It is therefore particularly well suited to couples and families, offering excellent fishing alongside a wide range of activities for non-fishing companions.
