ANEGADA

Anegada is the northernmost island in the British Virgin Islands and quite unlike its mountainous neighbours. Low-lying and surrounded by beautiful coral reefs, shallow lagoons and mangrove flats, it offers excellent saltwater fly fishing in a wonderfully peaceful Caribbean setting.

The island is particularly renowned for its bonefishing, with extensive shallow flats providing opportunities to stalk cruising and tailing fish in clear water. Bonefish can be targeted both on foot and from a skiff, with experienced local guides exploring a variety of habitats according to the tides and conditions.

Permit and tarpon are also found in the surrounding waters, together with barracuda, jacks and other saltwater species. The varied fishing and generally light pressure make Anegada an appealing destination for both experienced flats fishermen and those looking to catch their first bonefish on the fly.

Beyond the flats, offshore fishing can also be arranged, with opportunities for marlin, sailfish, tuna, wahoo and other game fish.
