CAYO PAREDON

Cayo Paredón is an attractive saltwater fly fishing destination situated off Cuba's north-central coast. The Fishing

Bonefish are plentiful, with opportunities to target cruising and tailing fish across the shallow flats. Some excellent specimens inhabit these waters, and the mixture of sand and turtle grass provides varied and interesting sight-fishing.

Permit are another important attraction, particularly around the shallow lagoons, grass flats and edges of deeper channels. These challenging fish can be encountered throughout the fishing area, providing exciting opportunities for experienced saltwater fly fishermen.

Tarpon are also present, particularly in the sheltered creeks and mangrove systems, with the possibility of completing a Grand Slam. Barracuda, jacks and snapper provide additional sport.

Fishing is generally undertaken from shallow-draft skiffs with experienced local guides, who explore different areas according to the tides, weather and movements of the fish. There are also opportunities to wade suitable flats when conditions allow.
