MANDA BAY

The Fishing

The waters off northern Kenya are renowned for their variety of game fish, with opportunities to target blue, black and striped marlin, sailfish, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, dorado and other offshore species.

The principal fishing season generally runs from September through to April, with the period from November to mid-March particularly attractive for billfish. Experienced local skippers operate well-equipped game fishing boats, with access to productive offshore grounds.

Inshore fishing offers a different experience, with opportunities to target giant trevally, kingfish, barracuda and other species around the reefs, channels and islands of the Lamu Archipelago. This provides an enjoyable contrast to the offshore fishing and is particularly well suited to anglers who enjoy a variety of techniques.

Fishing days can be tailored to individual interests, whether concentrating on big game fishing or combining offshore trips with lighter inshore sport.

Accommodation
